SEAMS MAGAZINE

The objective for this project was to create a two-page opening spread, together with a two-page copy spread using a limited number of fonts, unlimited colours, and photography as a visual metaphor pertaining to the article.

The photo of the girl hanging with a bunch of strings is a metaphor of users who are controlled by how they experience the web with a lot hidden choices. Using black and white makes the page have less distractions and takes a more serious approach about the message that is conveyed. The red elements create a focal point for the spread as well as a sense of warning. A slight colour gradient is emphasized at the beginning of each paragraph to better guide the eye. The repetition of “SEAMS” and strings creates consistency.
